So...some background to this picture. This is one I've been wanting to do.

This is San and Dossie.

I've done a bunch of nuzlocke runs - my SS run, on which NuzRooke is based, was my very first. Since then I've done runs on Platinum, Pearl, and Black version too. This picture refers to my Black run. Had I taken notes, I probably would have made it into a comic...there were a lot of great characters...

So...my starter was a Snivy named Primus. The first Pokemon I caught was a Timid Lillipup named Dossie. The second one I caught was another Lillipup, named San. This one was Jolly, and while Dossie had Pickup as her ability, San had Vital Spirit.
Dossie was really skittish, timid sort, and San, a much more cheerful and strong individual, took her under her wing. As the game progressed, San became the sort of "Alpha" of the team pack. Dossie was like her little sister. She adored San and looked up to her so much. San was stronger, and she fought well, even though towards the end Dossie ended up an even better fighter. And much braver, too.

Those were the first two I caught. And then...really early on...Primus was killed. It was devastating, but my two little pups helped me through it. I took them with me, all the way, to the league itself. I knew it was a risk. But they wouldn't have let me box either of them. I loved them both so much. My girls, my doggies. <3

Along the way we lost some good friends...Catorce, the Archeops, who was timid but wasn't afraid to die...Once, the Yamask, who was so wise, but died right before she was about to evolve...Ventitres, "Ven", the Mienfoo who was gutsy till the very end...Dozen, the Krookodile who was tough as nails...

We made it to the league. I was worried, because of the fighting leader. I had no flying types. No psychic types. The most I had was Ivan the Simipour, who was awesome and chill, who knew Acrobatics. But I had to try.

Ivan took out the first few of the guy's Pokemon, but then a Mieshao got him with a Jump Kick. Ivan...he was so awesome. He was so calm and tough. In my mind, he would tie that silly hair back of his with an Expert Belt, into a ponytail. He was a rock of the team.

My team was already weak - I had waited until the end to fight this member of the E4. I had to make a judgment call. All my other Pokemon had weaknesses. So I did what I felt was the only thing I could do - I sent out the one with the highest defense.

San.

I can't remember what attack it was that got her. But she was killed in one blow. Fighting to the end. And Dossie...I sent out Dossie, and she MAULED that Mienshao. Two Strength attacks was all it took - she was faster, and the Mienshao's attack missed. Dossie saved us.

But we lost San.

Due to poor planning and not realizing I had to fight Ghetsis, I eventually came out of the whole last fights with only three Pokemon left. An female Excadrill named Jukyu, a female Gigalith named Septima, and Dossie. So I beat my Black version run, just barely.

...So that's the story of my Black run, in a nutshell. So that's why I painted this picture. This is Dossie and San, right after that last, fatal blow...

RIP San.

The words are lyrics from the song "Your Guardian Angel", which fits Dossie and San's relationship very well. As sisters, of course.
