No I found the poor thing dead in its nest... I was gutted. I was watching its parents taking it food for it a few weeks ago. Very sad.

So it was killed by predator which for some reason didn't eat it?

No problem, I didn't learn English slang too much. Good to know it.
About bird - then it might be because of illness, parasite or cold-shock (if there was cold).

Honestly I think English must be the hardest language in the world to learn... I am English and When I go like 20 miles away from my village I don't understand anyone! HahaΒ Β
And it has been pretty hot here lately so maybe that is it..

English is actually one of easy ones. In Polish words are mostly irregular and almost all are inflected (they change depending on time and case in used sentence). In declension we have 7 forms (German has 4 and Latin has 5), there is difference between plural and singular "you" (big problem for English speakers). Even if you learn grammar properly there is our strange ortography - we have additional letters (Δ , Δ, Δ, Ε, Ε, Γ³, Ε, ΕΊ, ΕΌ) and diagraphs ( (ch, cz, sz, rz, zi, dz, dΕΊ, dΕΌ, drz, dzi, ni, si). Some letters have (now) the same phones, so it often confuses even Polish people. Some words written with simple rules, but there is a lot of words that don't have that rules or are exceptions. And the worst, even if you learn all these things you'll meet a Polish person that will tell you that you speak stylistically wrong... That is reason why about 90% of Polish people speaks in Polish wrong!

At first, I was totally horrified by this! The title fits so perfectly, it makes it acceptable.Β

I was gutted when I found it... It is a baby wren and it was abandoned in its nest. I buried the poor little guy.

I figured it was found like that. Poor thing. Kind of you to bury him. The title is brilliant though.Β
For me, death is a strange subject and has always disturbed my brain. I think it stems from picking up my rabbit when I was a child after she'd died, her body was stiff and it scared the crap outta me...I also struggle with displaced/mutilated flesh...

Thank you so much and I hadn't thought about how it could be distressing to people I will be sure to think about marking photos like this as mature content! I am just worried about them not getting enough exposure because of the filter. I was very sad when I found this though because the previous week I was sat watching its parents taking food to him. Nature can be so cruel... Β

This is very true. We had rescued two baby red robins that had fallen from their nest. We had them for about 2 months or so? We dug up worms and were feeding them. They were near flying age when for no reason at all, one of them started 'choking' and died on something from a hole we had dug. A week later, the same thing happened to the other one. No idea as to why or what exactly happened. It was sad.
