Skin coloring tutorial for SAI~!Some people asked me for it, so I decided to make it C:

This is really great! But I do have on question. My brush tool in SAI won't taper when I apply less pressure or thicken when I apply more. But it does with the pen tool. Why won't it work with the brush? And how can I make it work?

Above the density tool for the brush there is a bar called "Min Size" if you want it to taper you have to make it set to a low number, if you set it to zero it starts as a very thin line and widens as you apply more pressure and tapers out when you apply less pressure. The higher the number is what size the brush starts out as and ends as.

For the shading, wouldn't it be easier to clip layer over the base layer of the skin? Since it's color would only appear over the base layer?

yeah, maybe it would, but even now when I've learned about clip layers, I still tend to color everything like that

yes I do but it's so much more complicated than when i used to work with markers~ My coloring was a tiny bit better with markers as for now, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it

i usually wonder why we use so many layers to color
and why cant u just use the wand tool wouldnt it save so much time ??

i did that tutorial long ago, now i found out other ways how to select some areas c:

wen i put the color layer under the line-art, and i started coloring on the color layer. but nothing appeared D:
