Very true, I'm a sucker of classic trim loading gauge British steam loco's of 1870 to late 1947 pre Riddles BR designs of a blank Northern German assembly line character. Even so, for the imported steam engines of Ireland, India, Argentina and Australia of that time given a England/Wales/Scotland British trim look in the boiler, paint, valve gear, and circular look a little out of place for their track and loading gauge environment more suited for Baldwin and Alco heavyweight loco designs and if given a buffer beam or someΒ
19th century influence European paintwork, Five Foot Russian Track gauge steam engine designs would be more appropriate to blend in the topographical Terrains of Australia and India in retrospect than the trim English and Scottish designs of 19th century origins.Β
