Director Gynoid had been inspired by an image she'd seen, and decided to reconfigure her personal doll, 213-92, as a way of creating a new dollmaking protocol. Over the course of weeks, nanites slowly reshaped the doll, converting much of the silicon and latex substrates into stronger metal-based materials. As a control, 213-92's original personality had been reloaded at the beginning of the process, but now was no longer needed.

Thus, the shimmering chrome skinned doll was loaded into a reprogramming frame. floating in a suspensor field, she stared with unfocused optics at the display and data coursed into and through her processor, her lips softly uttering a binary litany in automatic tandem to the data.
