Description
It was time to deal with Raven, Loki decided. He knocked on her door lightly. "Ravi," he said, opening it without waiting for an acknowledgement. She glared up at him, still her same fowl mood. In that respect she was much liker her mother Midnight; he remember that particular ex with a certain amount of fondness.Raven glowered. "It's no tmy fault that your wife is stupid," she said defesnively.
Loki sat down next to his daughter on her bed and leaned back against the wall. "Well," he reasoned, "It's not her fault that she's not as intelligent as you." An amused smirk hovered around his mouth; he was more pleased with this daughter than another of his other children.
Raven smiled a little at that - but just a little. Her father continued on. "I'm afraid that you'll just have to put up with it, child. Unless...." He paused significantly, until he saw that the girl's curiosity was piqued.
"Unless what?" she demanded.
"Unless you stop interrupting me, I'm not going to tell you what, that's what." He laughed at her expression, but not too scornfully. He didn't have the time to fuss with temper tantrums right now.
Raven sniffed. "Just get out if you're going to be an idiot, too, father," she said primly.
Loki sighed. "Apparently, I must, Ravi." It was unclear whether the god was referencing being an idiot of being forced to get to the gist of the matter. Raven made an impatient noise while he was trying to decide, none too polite. Her father rolled his eyes in distaste.
"Oh, fine!" he said. "You're going to do me a little favor, Ravi. I know you want to see your half-sister, and I'm sure Aelia would love to see you, too..." He chuckled a little. Yeah, right. "I'll tell you where to find her, on the condition that you move out of this house and out of Delilah's hair permanantly. I hate running interference." He looked a little depressed just at the idea. "She's annoying enough without you annoying her on top of everything."
Raven tilted her head sideways, long waving locks of midnight blue hair swaying gently with the motion. It was a wonder her head wasn't permanantly sideways with the weight of it all. "So what's the catch?"
Loki shrugged. "Personally, I thought that was the catch. But I suppose there is something else."
He left the offer hanging it mid-air for nearly a minute, Raven staring him down violently until he picked it up again. She disliked this stilted form of conversation. Why did he have to treat it like her was reeling in a fish or something?
"Well," he said, reasonably toned. "It only stands to reason that I would have someone to carry on my work... Someone to step into my boots while I'm preoccupied here. Someone to make another attempt."
He paused again, maddeningly; Raven found herself leaning forwards and quickly drew back. "An heir..."
