I've watched the Matt herms tutorial and tried shading Sonic
(this was a test so I didn't drew his eyes)

Also I've noticed a tiny thing. I see in Matt's art characters have gradient in certain places but sometimes in spots it's like it's cell shaded
When do you do the gradient effect on art and characters?

I tried to draw my own Sonic's Fan Character and fot that, i used your tuto "How i Color Like the Archie Comics" and "Drawing like Yardley: Hands". The color was the hardestΒ part and I didn't know to drawn handsΒ , but i did my best :

Excuse me! i made this icon a couple of days ago as a request for a friend of mine, i attempted the coloring style of Archie and would like to have your opinion on how i did this. Its the second time i try it with references this time instead of memory.

Wow! For a second attempt at the colouring style you have done a very sound job!
You have chosen bright colours and have a very strong contrast in shades to lights which is pretty essential when emulating the Archie style!
If I could give some tips, the first would be to try and blend the depth colours a little more so that they look more like the darker colour, I know that when I go over my old colouring work, this is the one thing I neglected, I always tried to make the depth colour stand out as much as possible, but subtly is key!

Good place to start. 
I will say though, i never thought that the head and torso overlapped a little in the gesture drawings.

Females are a whole new can of worms. I'd argue that they are the most difficult sonic anatomy to draw and the video for that will require I REALLY simplify things because Yardley actually changes the way the female looks. I've counted like 3-4 different ways he draws them but it's hardly noticeably because he only changes it for certain situation e.g fight scenes, standing still, etc. Β But i'll eventually do all of them
I was actually supposed to say something about that but I forgot and i'm so annoyed, but essentially because Yardley draws them with no necks the torso will in mostly ever case overlap with the head.Β

I can agree with ya there. Drawing female sonic character is something that I almost always struggle with. (maybe it's a 'guy' thing lol) I'll really be looking forward to seeing that when you get to it. The main difference I notice in the female characters is the range in physique based on the characters age; Like Child (Cream & Marine), Teen/Young Adult (Amy & Rouge), and Adult (Vanilla).
Well I suppose that could be mentioned in the Video about the heads and faces, seeing as it's relevant; and of course, you could always use annotations. XD
