coldplay is my friends fav band. i love violet hill too. viva la vida is great too, their latest album is good 
i really love Dream Theater, my fav band. they are heavier than Coldplay (most of the time!) but lighter than Nightwish (most of the time!) they do so many styles of music that i dont really listen to but they make it awesome

yes you must! i find everything theyve done to be wonderful! and if you like orchestrations in music, listen to the CD, Octavarium, its quite lighter than some of their stuff but its awesome!
