How do you set up your self portraits. I find them to be a pain in the ass. More than likely I am not starting out right.

Basically the same as when I'm setting up for landscapes. Tripod, cable release and jump infront of the camera

You can always use self timer if your not quick enough.

I have the hardest time composing a shot without seeing whats going on. I have to figure out how to use the link to the computer to compose whats in the viewfinder. Plus it doesnt help focusing with a short cord trigger.

Trick is to use live view and set up infront of a mirror or window (something reflective) then go stand in front of the camera with a cable release, auto focus and snap away.
