Description Another picture that I'm really really proud of. X3 This is Veno, the God of Venom and Vegetables.

About Veno:
The Snake Gods are said to be able to speak with each other telepathically.

Veno, the eldest brother, is the God of Venom and Vegetables. It is said that he was born from a drip of Mercury landing on a giant carrot. Veno is not as large as his brother Serpo, but he is still very large indeed. Invulnerable to fire, Veno resides within the floating volcano realm of Mt. Magmata. He is represented by carrots.

Veno is the father of Io, the Minor Goddess of Fire. Because Veno is so closely connected to carrots, Io made it so that carrots are impossible to burn. The only plants immune to lava, it makes sense that Mt. Magmata is overrun by giant carrots.

Veno was one of the first gods brainwashed by Mr. Fuzzums during the Fuzzums-Teddiursa War. The easily aggitated god fell right into Mr. Fuzzums' trap by leaving Mt. Magmata to search for his stolen daughter. Without the safety of the volcano to protect him, there was nothing stopping Veno from being influnced by the Magic Flute. Mr. Fuzzums left Veno, Veeno, and Snare to destroy European Russiac. Veno battled Fluffy and Teddiursa twice: once in the Giant Mountains and once in the final battle at Svalbard. There in the latter he attempted to spread poisonous water into the snow clouds to intoxicate Fluffy and Teddiursa, but Serpo stopped Veno just in time. Following Mr. Fuzzums' demise, Veno was cured by Serpo and returned to the crater of Mt. Magmata.

It is said that the bite of Veno is the most venomous thing in existance.

If one wishes to have an audience with the Carrot King, all one must do is stand at the altar at Mt. Magmata's summit.

This was in a way funner than Serpo. I originally wasn't going to shade him, 'cuz I was too afraid to attempt the odd lighting. But in the end I decided to give it a try, and look at the results! I think I'm getting better.

This is the first time I've ever colored Mt. Magmata. >.>

I'm a bit unhappy that the smoke and fire blocks out the tail, so I posted a fireless smokeless version in my Scraps. [link]

What was fun about this too was that it was good practice using the Hard and Soft Light paintbrush styles; I use them every now and then normally, but the shading on this one is 80% Soft Light and the fire is all Hard Light. o.O

So yeah, this was drawn on Paint.NET and was colored in Photoshop Elements.

And if you care to know, Veno's appearance is based on a rattlesnake plushie I got at the Phoenix Zoo long ago. He's also a bit inspired by Chilli Billi (I think) from Banjo-Tooie (only that he's big, lives in a volcano, and has a brother who lives in the snowy mountains).

Oh, and his name comes from "Venom" and is pronounced similarly.

EDIT 2009: Considering how nice this picture still looks despite its age, I'm opening it to critique.

Wow nice work.

At a glance I thought Veno was cooking.

Nice volcanic effects.
