Description
The Chinese Kanji on the forehead means "leaf," the horns have moss around their base, and of course the mask is on a baseball cap with a wig of brown suedecloth so it's all comfy and adjustable. This mask type is for sale, and commissions are available if you like the style but not the colors. I can duplicate this mask style for anyone interested in commissioning it, as well as do variations of it by adding or subtracting decoration/horns/wings/etc⦠(~$90)

What type of material is the actual facial piece made from? is it ceramics?

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. The face is actually a plastic mask from the craft store that I then paint, and it's mounted onto a baseball cap.

ha, thx, I was kinda goin for somethin spiritual/archetypal. Over in Bali, one of my fave home of mask makers, they have certain characters that are considered highly powerful and holy and can only be carved from the most sacred of trees. They place the mask in bags that they consider to be magical and are supposed to preserve the spiritual potency of the masks, taking them out only for rituals or to "feed" them (I have no idea how they feed them, though, lol). The most skilled of ritual dancers are supposed to be "possessed" by the masks during their rituals and enter into some sort of altered state of consciousness. Just felt like sharing my mask doesn't have that effect that I'm aware of, lol, and I'd be a lil weirded out if it did.

oh thx, yeah I luv mixing old traditions with new concepts, rigid traditions are so stuffy and lacking in fun. We gotta spice things up a bit, keep things new

This is shockingly unique...I thought it was just a digital art piece
What are your price ranges for a mask like this roughly?

for this piece my price would probably be about $90. I'm open to negitiation though, and I can add details or do personalized designs no prob. In fact, I enjoy the challenge of commisions XD

ha, so close, so close. I have this personal promise that there's one phrase in particular that I'll die happy if I can make something that provokes someone to say it, and 'holy wow' is sorta close but not quite. thx much for the support
