Description
Dark Eldar RazorwingReally enjoyed painting this one, and particularly pleased with how the tinted canopy came out, though Im not sure why I bothered panting the pilot. You cant actually see anything but his face

Nice, I see you went for painting the canopy rather than the pilot. In my case it was because the pilot was male and I have an all female DE army. Boy that was pricey to do.

I actually painted the pilot too, though Im not actually sure why I bothered seeing as he can barely be seen lol
And yeah, I can imagine that would be very expensive to do. Getting an all female Hekatrix Bloodbride squad was bad enough for me

Lol, imagine 2 squads of wyches, 9 Bloodbrides, 2 Archons, Succubus, Lelith, 9 Trueborn, 10 Kabalites, 6 bikes, 10 Scourges. All female. Ow!

2500 points of DE badness
2 Razorwings btw, one was done with flames on the nose and the other I attempted to do feathers. Not quite what I'd hoped but they aren't too bad if you don't look too closely.

Oh cool
I was tempted to do a large version of the broken sigil across the entire Razorwing, but I decided that was too much effort lol

I can see that. My next project starts officially tomorrow, Necrons. Just about to get the Megaforce and that will be it for them as far as I build. I only want a 1500 point with them and even the MF box will take me closer to 1600.

I'd do a lot differently if I had the time over with 40k.

Really good job!! I like the light blue "stripes" on the front part, they make a good highlight within all the green, without disturbing the overall look.
The dirty look is superb ... is it just a dark green heavily brushed over a black underground or is there something more?

Thanks
The green plating is Dark Angels green heavily drybrushed over a black base coat then drybrushed unevenly in Snot green with a soft flat brush. Works pretty well for something that happened by accident when I painted my first Raider

You're welcome!
Perhaps I'll try this for the Tantalus, I was looking for some inspiration after my initial idea proved to be no good

Lovelly. Don't worry, even if you have painted something that can't be seen, at least you know you did it

I used a single, very thick layer of green drawing ink. I tried doing several thin layers, but the second layer cracked and ruined the first, so I had start again

I don't know what the effect would be but Tamiya, the model company, makes translucent colors in acrylic paint. If your going to do more with that effect you might want to check them out.
