Description
I couldn't find a man, all for my own
So I thought I should make one of things that I know
I know he'll be perfect, and all to my taste
But I cannot rush it, mistakes come from haste

I started with a skeleton, based of metal
I think I pulled a piece from a kettle
The laces of nerves are thin spiderwebs
And his joints are some hose I found in the shed
His skin is made of thin pounded sheets
Of the cleanest and greenest oaken tree leaves
His eyelids are petals from the first rose of spring
Add a few muscles of rubberband and string
His teeth are hard candy I bought from the store
His ears are whole seashells I found on the shore
His veins are of plant's roots I dug up in May
His tongue is some gum that I chewed today
His lips are cut from a scrap of silk cloth
His eyelashes are antennae of moth
Feathers from ravens and crows for his hair
You never have too many of them to spare
A certain shaped cookie will act as a heart
Don't even ask about private parts
His tears are brine from the coldest of seas
And his saliva's honey from the busiest bees
His nose is a pebble on which I stubbed a toe
I stole coal for his eyes from a man made of snow
And for his stomach, a water balloon
I sure hope I find some intestines soon
His fingernails, formed from loose acorn caps
Glued to his fingers by a bit of tree sap
And his blood, don't forget, is made up of chocolate
I added spring water so the heart could pump all of it
His brain was formed of all of my dreams
Each part placed as I sewed the seams
And last but not least, a soul made of wishes
The first one of which was butterfly kisses

I wish I could wake him right now and right here
With just one little whisper inside of his ear
I'll have all the items, I picked out the date
But until he is finished, I'll just have to wait
