I'm packing for a permanent vacationBut I'm not sure where I'm goin'.
Starting to feel the fear of trepidation
Because my parting has no explanation
I don't think I'll miss this place
I don't think they'll miss seeing me here
Like the sun shines on scarab wings
Like the darkness clings to everything
Like the heat of coal turns black in time
I'm going, I'm going somewhere....
I'm leaving, and taking my troubles with me
Other people don't need them, I know.
I tried to tell them what I was doing.
But they just turned a deaf ear...they couldn't hear.
I don't think I'll miss the thing's I've seen
I don't think they'll miss what I've done here
Like the sun shines rainbow through ice in the arctic
Like the moon makes a crescant in the sky
Like all life slows near the end
I'm leaving, I'm leaving and I don't know why....
I will travel all alone
Am I leaving or going home?
Will I reach my destination,
Or is my trip just a complication
Of something more?
Like light'ning on the ocean in a summer storm
Like the night of the world can take any form
Like the static charge between two people in love
I'm going, I'm going somewhere....
I'll be leaving soon, catch me before I go...
Because....I think....I'm going.....home

The feeling it conveys is great - fear of leaving the old, and familiar for something new and strange. We have all been there, and it's a familiar feeling.
