Description
There sits a flyCompletely still for a moment
A leg twitches
His wings buzz
And soon he is in motion
Full and live
Tiny though he is
How easily he moves
How envious am I
There hops a frog
Grown from a tadpole
A croak leaps from his throat
A lilypad beneath him
The fly on his tongue
Ready and waterbound
Though no wings to fly
Oh to be young
The rain pours down
The earth is dirt thirsty
I watch it come
The wind picks up
Lightning strikes nearby
The frog revels in it
I smile, resigned
My thoughts grew wings
And decided to fly
How envious am I
