Here is another one of my attempts at creating a unified ranking system between the Navy and the other branches.The first thing that you will notice is that I got rid of all of the "lieutenant" level ranks like "Lieutenant Colonel", "Lieutenant Commander", etc.
Secondly, except for the enlisted ranks, I removed all of the rank "per-qualifiers" such as "Major General", "Vice Admiral" "Lieutenant General", "Rear Admiral", etc. That made the flag officer ranks a bit lite, so to speak, so I moved a Colonel up into the flag officer range.
I had trouble deciding whether a General should outranks an Admiral or the other way around since now they are equal ranks. I decided to place an Admiral above a General because it just a Commodore DOES outrank a colonel and I thought that it would be better not to have two Navy ranks next to each other ("Commodore", "Admiral"), but to have it alternate (Major [army], Commander [navy], Colonel [army], Commodore [navy], General [army], Admiral [navy]). Thst is why I have an Admiral outranking a General.
Notice that I kept the Lieutenant rank at one bar and the Captain rank at two bars.
