I find this REALLY funny because I had a teacher in HS named Mrs. Mitchel. She taught Spanish.... anyway second she left the room everyone would try to get away with things too. lol

They call it a cakewalk because when America was a country in approval of slaves, they had the slaves do elaborate dances for competition. The winner got a cake, and the competition was called a cakewalk.
Not sure how that translates to something being easy, though. Maybe the competition wasn't very hard to win?

Nowadays in cakewalks everyone gets a cake, winner or not, which is why it's considered easy. I didn't know the about the slaves dancing part though, that's majorly awful.

Sure, but I'm still a beginner too so bear with me and most of my advice is pretty much the same for any medium. You know, try a lot of different tools and mediums and how they mix together, draw from life, painter's tape is awesome, don't be afraid to make mistakes, etc.

Yeah I actually learned what it is a while ago, I think no matter what you do in a cake walk everyone gets a cake.
