Where would I find the waves plugin?
I'm using 3D hack and need to download it but alas I can not find it anywhere.
Any suggestions?

Drummerboy08 In reply to MystikAngel [2009-12-23 18:38:18 +0000 UTC]

and also for the 3D hack, you will need to name your plugins folder "Plugins3D" or else Apo wont read them. not sure if you knew that or not, but many people dont...

you can find it at [link] its a giant pack of addons but Waves2 is in there, i dont know where you could get it just as a single plugin tho

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

AlphaDreaming In reply to Drummerboy08 [2010-04-24 17:12:24 +0000 UTC]

but if you unzipped "waves 2" only, and put it into Plugins folder, it works.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Drummerboy08 In reply to AlphaDreaming [2010-04-25 03:26:35 +0000 UTC]

Well, yes Apo won't run if you have it trying to load too many plugins at once. You just pick and choose the DLLs from the plugin pack that you want to use

you are very welcome, and thanks for the fav as well! and what were your questions about texturing? i am curious

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

resonantsky In reply to Drummerboy08 [2009-12-23 07:54:19 +0000 UTC]

linear + radial blur xform, close axis positioning, creating fully sampled areas install of whispy transparent ones... all that, the idea of using linear and spherical, waves, julia etc in that method brings nicely sampled areas, whether they're gnarly or not... sooo if you have any other tips to create flames with fully sampled areas without negative space i'd like to hear them

nothing i can think of off the top of my head now, just keep experimenting with different variations and transforms, some of the results are quite surprising

you are very welcome! its a style that seemed to always be pretty popular, but only among the more experienced fractalists, and thats when i realized its cuz there was no tuts about it. hope you learn a thing or two about Gnarls, have fun with it, cant wait to see what you can make!
