Description
And then he howled. He had to howl. No one else was howling and if he didn't howl, in that exact moment, then he also wouldn't howl. And with that howl, he broke free. He was alive.I dunno. I made that part up in my head.
I have never been so inspired by a short story before as I was with Sonny's Blues by James Baldwin. So moving.

I just wanted to draw a tortured soul. I drew a wolf, trapped in a world where nothing howls because nothing has truly heard a howl because no one's listening. He's inside this world, just wanting to howl before it's too late and he can't howl like everyone else and so he howls and he's alive and everyone listens.
"Freedom lurked around us and I understood, at last, that he could help us to be free if we would listen, that he would never be free until we did."
~James Baldwin

I feel exactly how this wolf feels now. It's nice to relate to a piece.

It's always nice to relate to a piece or a piece that you can try to relate to. =3 I usually feel like the latter.
