~... You Don't Have To Put On The Red Light, Those Days Are Over, You Don't Have To Sell Your Body To The Night~

Scene from Kanu & Lena's Roleplay.

[ A few minutes passed and Kanu seemed to be getting somewhere. Yes, he had indeed seen this scenery before, but it still wasn't giving him a bright spark of realization as to which route he needed to take which made him very short tempered. At every snap of a stick or chirp of a bird Kanu would grit his teeth, wanting to yell 'shut up' into the void. But he bit his tongue as to not attract unwanted attention. The wind slowly picked up, weaving through the thick, gnarled tree trunks and hitting him unpleasantly. He grumbled, he had never managed to get lost before, even on lands he didn't know very well. Sometimes if natural obstacles got in the way he'd be delayed, but he'd always know where he was. So why not now?

Storming in whatever direction he had finally chosen to go in, he mumbled to himself under his breath. 'You're an idiot, you should have been watching where you were going.' Kanu scolded, his head titled downward as to shield his eyes from insects and the on-coming wind. Suddenly he picked up a scent. What was it? Something odd yet familiar in a way. He stood for a moment, processing the smell as he inhaled it deeply. Could it be? No. I couldn't be. But it could have been.

Kanu instantly headed toward the source of the sweet smell he was sniffing. Soon enough he had come face to face with a mare, short and stocky was she, her coat painted with a light bay color. It was her, the bright blue eyes and long lashes gave her identity away instantly. He hadn't seen her ever since he washed up on the shores of the Eastern Isles, and he had forgotten until now that she resided here.

"Cholena."

It was beautiful; pale, soft blue light shown through the opening of the trees' limbs. The few blades of tall grass billowed in the wind, gentle rustling combined with the whipping of the leaves. The black, curling tendrils of her braid were twirled in the caressing breezes, but she didn't notice. Her name was spoken; every letter, every vowel, every syllable was gingerly whispered as her eyes locked on to the stallion in front of her. Her heart raced, ears flitting and flickering to hear his heavy breathing.

He was there.

He looked so different than the young colt she met years ago on the Southern Isles. He was just as handsome, if not more so with age. She remembered his kind eyes and gentle heart; and his advice to stay on the island with his herd. Oh how she wished she had heeded his warning. Another small breeze drifted his scent to him; she breathed him in deeply, smelling of the faintest scent of soot, but his natural aroma overtook her senses more than anything. Warm, familiar, and spicy, just like pine in winter when it tickled your nose.

"Kanu."

She breathed softly, her hooves hesitantly carrying herself to his dark form, white face staring at her intently. She paused, worried that if she moved too fast he'd flee away from her. When she was sure he was staying put, the young mare bolted to close the space between them. He was the only familiarity she knew anymore, and she wailed softly in delight and sadness at the same time, her petite, stocky frame curling under his jaw, her cheek brushing against the side of his neck. She huffed heavily, nostrils flaring to take in his scent, his warmth, just him before he vanished away forever, his mane draping over her face as she closed glossy, blue eyes.
"Are you real.?"]

Gah I love these two! They have such a history and I love it. I would have put more of our RP in there but our posts are really long and I don't want you to get bored |D I am very happy with how this turned out! I'm getting better at trees... Which is good because they are no longer a pain in the ass.
