Nice start. Not feeling the icons, they don't seem to fit in with the glossy professional feel you have going on, check out some of the icon sets around the web that have CC Licenses from places like smashing magazine, etc.
Also, try blending the mouseover on your nav bars gradient with the blue you've used in the content box, so it looks like the button is actually coming out of there.
