Just like the Alola Region Pokemon introduced to Romoa has found their new habitats to be filled with such dangers, like predators or extreme climate conditions, that the Pokemon are forced to adapt and eventually change their appearance, abilities, and even type. Roselia is one of those examples. Introduced by people who moved in from Hoenn and Sinnoh the Roselia evolutionary family found the Romoa region to be filled with dangerous predators during the day. Because they were not much of fighters Budew were forced to hide away during the day and come out at night. It is said that the evil spirits who roamed the Ramoa region during the night had corrupted Budew to the point where they evolve into a different type of Roselia, one that can better survive the harshness of the Romoa region. Though a more likely scientific reason is that the less light they are getting from the moon contributed to this change. Roman Roselia are similar to their cousins from Hoenn and Sinnoh except for the fact that their body is thorny and they have a darker color scheme. Another difference is that Romoan Roselia relies on Physical attacks unlike their Special-attacking relatives from Hoenn and Sinnoh.
