Dark and eerily quiet in the ancient seraphim temple of Karavire, home of an ancient power. The fallen angel, Zephir, heard of this legend and sought this source of might for her race, the Spark. She studied extensively on this place and the trials to overcome. She had to do this unhindered, vulnerable, and with no help from the outside world or the temple would remain closed to her.

If she finished reading the text on the trials of Karavire, she would learn of the guardian, She Who Hungers. The trials would test her to her limits and if she was truly an angel of worth, she would find what she sought.

She finally reached the platform where many of her kind performed the ritual to call upon this tool in times of terrible need. The ritual required a few drops of blood on the magic seal so it would know her. There was another purpose for this letting of blood. It was a lure that also awoke the terrible guardian of the Spark.

To her delight, the blood began to glow and rise, taking the form of a crimson gem. This was what she was looking for! So many tests and she would soon be done with this wretched place. She never heard the beast rise from the chasm that it called home. The gem was the final test and with the beast behind her, she would soon find out how badly she had failed, such is the price of her arrogance and pride.
