Description
Original pencil version in my gallery with treatment. This is only part of what will eventually I hope become a larger story I will produce. This concept is closely based around the Sonic SATAM series. As I both grew up with that series when it aired, and also believe it has the best setting and story to be told in the Sonic universe. I really haven't cared about anything after that like Sonic Underground (yuck) or Sonic X (lol wut?) or any of the other stuff they try to throw in to further tarnish this otherwise awesome concept. Maybe you don't agree with me and like those shows and ideas and that is totally coo, but to me SATAM is the best. I think it got cancelled for being TOO awesome and even political with it's messages. Now they're all safe and sucky.Related content

A quick rundown of this scene is that Tails is scooped up by Robotniks forces who consistently search the landscape for animal life to be roboticized. Here he's been dropped off at a hangar in the roboticization facility with his hands tied. But not only does that leave Tails' real weapons totally unhindered, but in the scene Sonic hitches a ride a top the ship you see departing in the background, ready to spinbash the minion you see on the left. Robotropolis in the distant background.

Great work! Tails' facial expression is pretty badass.

May I ask what sort of program you used? I'm really digging the gritty effect.

Photoshop, I generally just use the air brush tool.

Also for the particularly sharp and gritty spots I used a sharpening tool. And of course in contrast, the background has a blurring tool applied. Creating that artificial depth of field is probably one of my favorite features of the digital work.
