*sniff*......WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHSortiara was probably one of my favorite characters from Soul Sacrifice. Granted she was one of very few characters, but she was still a great one by pretty much any standard. She was your first partner in the story, and was pretty much insane. She would go on and on about how much she hated your guts and how she would betray you and kill you the MINUTE you weren't useful to her anymore. To be honest, she wasn't my favorite person right from the get-go. But then she started crying one night, and as it turned out, she was in alot of pain. As I got to know her more, I really felt bad for her. She was lonely, her arm kept hurting like crazy, and everyone hated her and avoided her. She even started being nicer to my character, and we actually became really close.
That's why when I was forced to murder her.....I....just......*manly tears*
Yeah, I like to get super immersed in video games. It makes it more fun. Hate all ya want. But yeah, I just felt like drawing her. I didn't put her hood up because honestly, I think she looks prettier without it. I probably messed up her outfit a bit, but her appearance is kind of obscure since there's a serious lack of fanart and the concept art from the game doesn't help much either. You know...I think I'm actually the first person EVER to do fanart of Sortiara. O_o
Also, if you're confused about the background (and why parts of her body are withering away) It's because I kinda imagined this is what she looked like inside my arm. Yeah, after you kill someone you absorb their body and soul into your right arm, for those of you who haven't played the game. As for the words in red, those are quotes from her in the game. Hope you guys like this!

To respond to your description, you aren't the first to do fanart of Sortiara. Β i know of at least 3 other images (all in my faves but it you'd go insane looking for them). Β and this is a good image and i loved soul sacrifice, it makes me wonder, have you played the remake? Β Soul Sacrifice delta improves on all the gameplay of Soul Sacrifice

This is among the small amount of Sortiara art that I can find, shame that there's not more. Soul Sacrifice is a good game with a lot of potential, I'm glad there's going to be more. I have an idea I had that I would love to see being implemented in the game: spells being different depending on the arm, a good example would be the avarice arm making your weapons look like they are made from gems and gold.

Nope. You have absolutely no choice but to kill her. See, Avalon is the big superpower that governs over sorcerers. They enlist sorcerers to go and kill monsters. The only catch is that each monster used to be either an animal or a human. See, magic in Soul Sacrifice works like radiation. Every time a sorcerer uses a spell, it distributes magical energy into the environment. In big quantities, it can mutate that environment and the animals in it, changing them into monsters. The same thing can happen to people too. However, when a monster is defeated, it reverts to its original form, be it a dying animal or a dying person begging for their life. It is against the code to save them from death, and the sorcerers are forced to murder that animal/human to prevent them from spreading magic energy even further.
That being explained, in order for a sorcerer to join the ranks of Avalon, they are sent out on a small quest with a partner at their side. At the end of the quest however, the sorcerers are forced to fight and kill their partners as a way of destroying their innocence and turning them into assassins that will not hesitate to murder humans who were once monsters. It's cruel, but it's a necessary evil. Sortiara was my partner, and we had no choice but to try to kill one another.
In-game, if you save her from death she'll get back up and start attacking you again, saying "Why...why did you help me?! Does this not only make it harder?!". So yeah, you have no choice but to kill her. If you keep saving her the fight will go on until either you kill her or you die. However, after that you can save whatever monsters you want, but it could cause Avalon to send an assassin after you.

Yeah, I'm REALLY impressed. This game has such a rich storyline and the story telling is flawless. The characters are really likable too. Believe it or not, even the MAIN VILLAIN is likeable. Not the "oh he's such a cool evil dude" likeable, I mean that I actually like him as a person. Yeah, how often do you hear someone say that about a villain?

Oh, wow. This...kinda makes me want to get the game. But, I probably won't right now. Too tangled up in the games I'm ALREADY playing, plus the games that are still waiting in line to be played.

It's a fantastic game. They're still adding stuff to it via dlc, and it's doing really well right now popularity-wise. The characters are easy to get attached to, the bosses are really cool and creative, the lore is interesting and plain awesome, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The gameplay is really fun too, and the story is AMAZING. I'd rate it an 8/10.

It's for the Playstation Vita, and the difficulty varies. It starts out by giving you pretty easy quests, then it starts to get brutally hard later on. By far the most difficult quests are the non-story mode ones. There's this one where you have to fight a boss that's fast, has a pretty wide hit-box, can demolish half your health in one swing, AND you're fighting him in an environment that slowly drains your health. I can't even tell you how many times I rage quit that quest.

Ah. Yeah, you need to beat story mode (tough job thanks to Chaos; I finally beat him with a level 63 Onion Knight) and do a lot of grinding in duel colosseum for the proper trade accessories...in the original. I'm still working at that in Duodecim.

Yeah...I honestly didn't really get that much into the game to be honest. I'm one of those people who only really gets immersed in a game if it has character customization, like the option to MAKE your own character to play as. Soul Sacrifice has this function.
