Do you see me -In this strange world?
Hidden amongst these paint-smeared faces,
Darting behind these pinstripe suits.
Warm words tumble from frowning faces,
Tear-drops scream across their cheeks.
Strangers offer their convincing masks,
Remorse drawn on – store bought.
Condolences and commiserations!
They sigh of good life lost.
It's called 'going through the motions'.
The gestures repeated thrice -
With each hand shaken, with each embrace,
Their sadness wanes, the new-mask slips.
Do you see me –
In this strange world?
My smile just can't quite keep-up.
My mask, I made it by myself –
With---

It's quite sad and it gets to you because it's written with a realistic voice, if that makes sense.
You should write more poetry!
