Description The intent was to dye a spare Bumblebee green (after reshaping the head and removing the police light), but it didn't come out very well and I ended up warping the plastic in the process:

Unfortunately, the plastic didn't just warp, it puckered and shrank in several places, so I couldn't bend it back. The toy is totally incapable of transforming now, so I didn't have to worry about paintscrape or making the head fit, so I added antennae and mandibles.

A question:
I've had trouble dying plastic before, where some will take dye, but the hard plastic used for the 'shell' and thus the majority of the TF won't take the dye at all.
What dye do you use? I tend to use RIT dye and water just under the boiling point

RIT. Heating water seems to make it go faster, but I get warped plastic well below boiling, hence Wasp no longer being able to transform.

Weird, I've yet to have a warping problem... do you think they use a differant plastic for the legends class as opposed to deluxe/voyager?

It's something of a crapshoot. I had warping on Deluxe Cybertron Thundercracker too.

Weird... I'll have to watch out for that then!

Thanks!
