Description This scene was created for the "Mystic Islands" contest run by ~t3rragenD . It took about 25 hours to render and I decided not to do much postwork besides resizing it for display.

As always comments and such are welcome - since the idea of the contest was to create something "mystical" I tried to have several strange things going on in this one. (Weird water ripples, strange cloud shapes and shadows, and sort of a "high wind" effect for the horizon.) I think overall the whole place feels out of the ordinary and I had fun trying to do stuff I don't usually use.

Enjoy!

Vue 5 is an awesome program too - I've got some stuff I'm toying with in there but most of it doesn't ever see dA.

I've had some images render for a lot longer than this one in Terragen. I do all my renders at 4000 X 3000 and then scale down later so I have both versions. I'm using a 2.8 GHz P4 with 2 GB of memory and 128 MB video card but I'm hopefully going to upgrade within the next year or so. Just depends on how much I can use it for paying projects vs. my own personal stuff.

Thanks for stopping by!
