TheCranburryQueen suggested that i redesign an old OC so im workin on this boye! decided to fold in the classical winged sphinx to his design. dunno if his name'll still be Rana blah blah blah b/c it's a bit generic but i know his personality is gonna be mostly the same; he's a nice kid. i'm gonna rework his coloration once i finish him up.

hes a lesser demon that takes the form of a sphinx and interacts with his summoners via riddles and games (i.e. he'll give a riddle and if the summoner guesses correctly, he'll give them what they ask for, and if they guess incorrectly, he'll take something from them.)
hes relatively benign and usually unless a summoner has reALLY pissed him off he'll give them what they asked for anyway
he has a weakness for sweets, especially chocolate so those are always a viable option for bribery
he can take human form if he wants and usually dresses like a preppy dork
hes very timid at first but he warms up to people really easily. He's pretty much happy about everything, even if it's inappropriate to be, so if you manage to get him angry you've screwed up big time. He's pretty bubbly and talkative most of the time.
he's actually so benign that he refuses to eat the souls of other living things unless absolutely necessary, so he is stuck at a relatively low ranking in terms of demonic power, but he doesnt really mind that too much
he prefers to answer summons and be pretty helpful to the physical world. mostly he just wants the company of sentient races like humans because of his rocky relationship with his fellow demons. (“Most of us are pretty dumb, and anybody who’s smart enough to hold a decent conversation’s usually too stuck-up to bother with a low-ranked Sphinx like me.”)
he's super protective of Claire Frei Nelson (familiar/master relationship) and she's the only one who he'll let ride on his back as a lion
she is also the only human to whom he's willingly revealed his third eye, which is under his floofy bangs. his eye can see the auras/emotions and souls of living things
so basically hes a big ol misunderstood sweetie i guess???
he's genderless and asexual (being a spirit n whatnot) but by human standards hes masculine so basically a dude
