This is a crossover between the Marvel Comics event Annihilation: Conquest and the Metroid Universe.
Synopsis:
After escaping from the infected Federation outpost, Samus discovers the Phalanx have infiltrated her power suit. Stricken with the transmode virus, Samus resorts to a desperate measure to defeat the Phalanx and cure herself. Whether she is strong enough to succeed, is yet to be seen...

I get it. It didn't infect her directly, but it did infect the suit. And since Metroid other M established the suit as an extension of her will, it took over indirectly.

YAY! unexpected ending. At first I was like WHAT! NO! and then the more I thought about it, the more I liked it... stories that you don't know if it'll end good or not are the best. maybe you should wright a full blown series in the future eh? you're a really good writer. btw, just got other m two days ago and it's AWESOME so far.

Sylistically, I borrowed another writer's MO, where the ending has a twist. The drawback to this is that it doesn't allow me much room to write follow ups or sequels.
However, there may be a chance that I could write a continuation of this theme with the Halo story instead. It would partially explain why and how the Phalanx are able to enter different science fiction worlds.
