the listening/alert ears are the only ones i've never been able to draw, i will use this for reference next time and see if it helps me.

Thank you finally someone posts something about ears. I notice in some comics the ears always down even when they are happy. I'm like what? Isn't an upset look? lol, its weird.

Actually, my character, Spark, in one of her older designs, her ears used to always be back, due to mutation.
