Did you know that Gremlins was going to be a very different movie? Originally, it was meant to be rated R, due to, not only more pronounced profanity such as f-bombs, but also it was gonna be more violent than the final version we got (Barney the dog and Pete the kid were originally not going to survive the gremlin attacks). Unfortunately for Gizmo fans, even Gizmo would have been evil like all gremlins (including their mowgai forms) and become a full fledge gremlin; the original Gizmo was originally gonna become Stripe the gremlin and die at the end. Speaking of the gremlins, they were originally gonna have a completely different appearance from the mowgais (not just largely different, but completely different), like having large, white horns instead of ears, green eyes as opposed to red, larger mouths with sharper teeth (as they're probably obligate carnivores as implied in the original screenplay), a long, reptilian tail, and having more pronounced armour than the ones in the final cut of the film. Based on these details, I decided to make what the gremlins would have looked like if this original R-rated cut was made into the final movie.If anyone wants to see the original Gremlins cut be made (assuming this was possible, although I'm not gonna make it), please type #bringbacktheoldgremlinscut .
