Not to sound rude at all but those symbols on his head are kana, specifically katakana, or the japanese "letters" that have no meaning unless they are put together like our letters. Kanji have meanings only, like how "&" means "and" and "#" is a pound key, hashtag, or number sign but you can't tell by looking at them because there are no letter clues, you just know what they are. (I'm new at learning japanese and can read a couple kanji and most kana haha) also he does sound pretty cool i like his mask the most

It's extremely stylized like Geiz and Zi-o's helmets

For things that aren't native to japanese, like wolverine, they would usually spell them with katakana that sounds like the english animal (they would spell it something like Uurubarinu) but for some reason they dont try to say it like an english speaker and used existing kanji for a while then also decided to just use katakana. The kanji is kinda misleading? (ε±ηΈ=flinching raccoon
