Lies, deceit, deception
Surrounding me, drowning me.
I'm gasping for air,
Desperate to catch my breath
As I'm sinking, falling,
Suffocating beneath the weight
Of the pressure to fight
To breathe:
To survive
And stay true to myself.
But everybody lies
And there's nowhere to run.
Everywhere -
Promises broken,
Trusts betrayed,
Vitalities destroyed at every turn.
It's all you can do
To guard your heart
And protect your soul -
Lie
To save yourself.
But then -
You're really just the problem,
Aren't you?
