Description Read it all then read the highlights .  I was thinking how, sometimes, meaning is lost in too many words- distillation brings clarity and intensity.

I think the idea is very cool! I love secrets and hidden messages.
However, I tend to think that this style is most effective when the hidden message is ironic to the big picture or even in direct opposition, if that makes sense. It makes for bigger shock value.

We already know that this is a love poem, so the hidden message is not much of a surprise, although it is very sweet! If the overall message was along the lines of, "Get out of my sight, I want to be as far away from you as possible," etc...and then the highlighted portions were the true meaning behind the harsh words, the shock value would be greater, because how many times do we say things we don't mean to those we truly love? Just my two cents.

The poem itself is very relatable, and it is uplifting! It made me feel light, as well.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the critique.  I appreciate it  .  I guess when I was conceptualizing I was just thinking of how people use too many words to say something simple and I wanted to somehow capture that.

You're very right about that! We tend to complicate things a lot that should be simple!
I see what you mean when you explain it. Some ideas are sometimes hard to convey in literature, but I think you're off to a good start!
