Typical mid-summer storm brewing up as I went to work this morning. Strong winds (50+ MPH), lots of lightning (1100-1200 strokes per minute) pretty standard stuff for the south-central U.S. this time of the year.Got to work and found out they didn't need me today, so I rushed home and got out my new toy. By then the lightning was past us but I did get some nice photos of some SLC (scary-looking clouds). I have some I may upload as stock later.
I was trying to capture different sections of the storm, this is looking east. To the untrained eye, this might look like a wall-cloud. But several key features are missing, and that means this is just another scary-looking cloud.

Nah, you're braver than that! As storms go, this was actually kinda puny, but the clouds had nice contrast, shape and color, so they gave me something to play with.

This one might have worried you, then. I rode with my brother to work, and after we got out of his truck, he turned around and clicked the button on his keychain to lock the doors. Right as he did, FLASH - BOOM!!! It couldn't have been more than 30-40 meters away! I looked at Mark and he looked at his key fob, kinda like, "Did I do that?"
