Description My cat, Pixel.

This is just a random shot when I was able to catch her by surprise, the flash masks her blue eyes, but getting her to hold still in natural light is all but impossible.

Oh, you honey are just too much! I love your kitty! Is she like Siamese?

No, just a lucky line-up of genes. Her father was a short-haired black cat, and her mother was a long-haired black cat. Somebody at the local Humane Society (I did volunteer work with the cats) told me all black cats have a Siamese heritage, and things just came out right. Actually she looks more like a Himalayan, which are marked much like Siamese but with longer coats. But she is very vocal like a Siamese!

What doesn't show is the color, her eyes are a pretty blue color. The told me as a non-purebred (her mother was an ex-gf's long-haired black cat) the blue would fade as she grew older, but they haven't. She does, however have the talkative trait of a siamese!

Yes! Mine are part Siamese and they NEVER stop talking. Its ridiculously cute until they get upset, then its just irritating

Mine are REALLY big cats. They are not even fat at all. They are tall and long, and muscular. My boy is 21 lbs... my grirl about 15.

It's the flash. Given that I used a very high power hammerhead flash, and she was only about 6 feet away from the camera, a bit of a goggle-eyed look is normal. You'd look a bit "stunned" if I set it off in your face from that range. That rig is more suited for recording nightime accident scenes in full detail. One of the tools of the trade. XD

Used to be called a "Frankenstein" or "monster" flash by the oldtime news photogs. Want a picture that makes somebody look really bad or stupid, or just plain ugly? "Hey Joe, take the monster flash."
