It's artificial here, wait for my new ones though, I got the hang of the whole panning thing.

I thought so, 1/1000 is very quick even for an R10 TDI...
Let's see those R15 and 908 in action!

I'm interested in how you managed to motion blur the background without leaving trails behind the car. Care to share?

Honestly, it was more about luck with how this shot was laid out than skill. Because the car falls in between the guardrails, all I had to do was select a rectangle around the car, invert it, and motion blur the rest. Very simple to do, but it would become much harder if the car was even slightly above the railing behind it.

I'm guessing he outlined the car with the select tool and then inverted the selection, used motion blur.
I'm almost fooled, but you shoulda blurred the closer barrier more and not blurred the car's shadow quite as much.

I liked the motion blur, but I think that the car centered makes the composition a bit boring, maybe it could be better if the car was a bit below where it is now, and if you could add some empty space in front of it so that a sense of movement was created

I could probably copy and paste some of the pavement just below the car to get rid of some of the railing, good point.
