Description
And we get an update for the main cast of heroic Decepticons! Now, a small disclaimer - in the series, Starscream isn't Omega Supreme-sized, instead being much closer in size to Jetfire or Optimus. However, between me not owning the Voyager-class version of the character and my giving the character the Supreme-class version's arm cannon, I think folks can forgive the difference.
Four down, three to go...

I wish Hasbro would do a Generations Jetfire that is close to the original Valkyrie design.

Admittedly, that would be nice. Extremely unlikely, however, but nice.

Lame. They had the license in the 80s.

Well, they had the rights to use the original mold back in the eighties. Making a new mold directly based on the original would risk a lawsuit, so they're better safe than sorry.

or they could renew the license

...yeah, I don't think it works that way. The original mold was owned by a company that's still a major competitor - getting a new license or renewing the old one would be extremely difficult.

Yes. Them and Mattel and all the other bits of competition.

No, but they've taken one or two copyrights over the years that can't be used for Transformers anymore. Right unfair, that.

Is that why Jazz and Ratchet are always preceded by the word "Autobot"?

EchoWing In reply to action-figure-opera [2011-03-03 22:21:16 +0000 UTC]
...no, not directly. Jazz and Ratchet are both fairly common words, and therefore not easily defended by copyright. Putting a made up word in front of them (Autobot) makes them more easily defended by copyright. It's complicated.

No. I understand. However, hasn't Microsoft circumvented this issue with Windows?

I suppose I can stand Primus up next to a ruler and get measurements that way.
