I found my watercolor pad the other day so yesterday I started drawing a fun little idea, and finished today. I haven't done watercolors in so so so so long...I think I could have planned the picture better to get a better result, but overall I think it's quite cute. Sorry, I don't have a time lapse video of this; I don't have a camera setup!I just thought..what if..you had a tiny tiny witch who rode a giant snail around from place to place, and set up a soup kitchen and medicine shop wherever she went? She'd latch on a lot of baggage onto the pet snail (like a desert caravan would do on a camel!) and even build little wooden structures so she can sit and steer. In case you are wondering about the symbols drawn on the signs and snail, I initially wanted to write Chinese characters because it'd be very succinct in writing "food" and "medicine", but decided not to limit this idea to one single setting/language; so I put a random made-up symbolic writing.

I love the bright colors and I think the concept/style of it would make a really sweet childrens book. My favorite parts of this piece is the snail and all the things on it (really nice detail btw) and the animals lined up for the tiny witch's soup~
I think it would be an awesome idea if you did more drawings of her travels and the different places she'd visit and animals she'd meet. ^^

I really did want to go for a cute, storybook feel to it; I'm very much inspired by all the nice books I read when I was little. It's funny you mentioned making more drawings of her; I did think of ideas of her adventures or her returning home to visit her other mini witch sisters, each one with a different profession (potionmaker, small animal breeder, spellmaster, etc). They'd all live in a large tree stump with little windows and balconies carved into it,, omg,,

ahhhh thank you! I really loved reading books with fantastic cute animal illustrations in them when I was younger, so I had a little inspiration there. I couldn't help but to develop the character background more, after I drew this! I was thinking up her family and why she went on a charity travel around the world and asldkfha thoughts just filled my head!

Thanks! It's a little out of the ordinary from my regular pieces (watercolor vs. digital, blocky-cute vs. more realistic shading), but it's so nice to do something different once in a while!
