In "Gemini Rising, Part 1" ( [link] ) the happy occassion of the birth of Eden Marie and Johnathan Christopher Spengler is spoiled by the mysterious villian Josiah Nodus, who kidnaps the newborn twins and causes the world we knew to de-rezz (in classic Zero Hour fashion) into white nothingness...

A traveller from the future, Romulus, finds himself in a June 13, 1999 far different than the one he expected. The whole world is like some dumbed-down-for-Saturday-Morning-TV version of reality.

The original Ghostbusters are still retired.
Egon Spengler mentors the Extreme Ghostbusters.
Janine Melnitz is a perky cheerleader.
Egon and Janine are still stuck in the old "will they or won't they?" status quo.
Ray Stantz is balding and sells used cars.
Peter Venkman sounds like a moron.
Winston Zeddmore flies a commuter plane.
Slimer talks coherently and is the leader of the Extreme Ghostbusters.

Can Romulus unravel the mystery, and restore the world he knew?

The world of "Slimer! And The Extreme Ghostbusters" is a "cartoon purist" version of the Ghostbusters Universe, though to make it more wierd some of the RGB problems that were "fixed" in EGB (Slimer as a Ghostbuster, Peter acting nice to him, helium cheerleader Mommy Janine) come back to haunt us... I call this version "Earth One" in honor of the DC Comics from the '60's-'80's, where the world of the Silver Age was called "Earth One" and the Golden Age, even though it came first, was "Earth Two".
