Back to work on the final couple of dudes for Iz's personal project. I wonder if he forgot about this already

I like how the weapon blades are held together with ropes.
Looks very old fashioned and i like it.

Really like this character design, your character has feet I've been trying to emulate for a long time too, they always give me trouble. Β Fantastic pic.

Thanks. I think it's just about getting the perspective right. The heel would kind of be off the ground, perhaps. I'm trying to remember what I was thinking as I drew it. Think of it more like your hand on the ground, leaning toward the fingers -- rather than a foot foot. The "thumb" would be coming down from higher up, and I think that's the trick to getting it to look this way. Hope that helps.Β

Creative and well drawn, but Komodo is an Island that makes up Indonesia and the Aztecs were a people that ruled over an empire in Central Mexico. Nonetheless, pretty good.

...and this is a fantasy humanoid reptilian. He could have been wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt, or perhaps a space suit with a raygun. It doesn't have to make sense...

...but if you really need it to make sense, there are a few ways to handle it. Assuming this guy lives on Earth, and that the Aztec garb is actually from the Americas, he could be a wandering mutant reptile man who settled down in Mexico and was clothed by the native people after saving one of their babies from a local predator... or maybe he never left Indonesia, but travelling merchants imported some inauthentic Aztec clothing items, made in China, that caught our lizard boy's eye. Or perhaps it's the year 3000 AD, and humans use designer genes to alter their physical makeup. One such person transformed himself into a reptilian-human hybrid, and right now he's dressed up as his favorite comic book character as he attends the New London Comic Con. Of course, it's also possible a race of reptilian humanoids visited Earth thousands of years in the past. After the native people of what would later become Mexico began to replicate the aliens' style of clothing, the aliens decided to return to the stars... but their space craft had been infested by Earth insects which chewed upon vital components, causing the vessel to crash land in Indonesia. The survivors of the crash contracted a virus whichΒ caused their offspring to devolve and interbreed with Earth reptiles to spawn the population of komodo dragons we see today.Β

...but then again, maybe it's just a drawing.Β

Hey come on, I was just stating a fact. Sorry if it offended you. I didn't say that I didn't like your drawing.

You have to be careful how you say things. You presented it as if you were correcting a mistake.Β

For that, I apologize. I only wanted to state a fact.

Most of the conquistadors pissed themselves to death out of fright before the dragons could even draw blood.

edcomics In reply to gregshepherddesign [2008-11-25 03:48:10 +0000 UTC]

Definitely. I'm just trying to decide how I want to color it. I could do the standard colors I've usually done on this sort of thing, OR I could try eliminating the line art and doing a digital painting.

I guess I could do both, actually.
