I've never had waffles and bacon.. In fact.. I've only ever had one waffle in my lifetime. (well, I had these packaged things called "stroopwafels" in Amsterdam which were the MOST AMAZING THINGS I'VE EVER TASTED.. but.. they were like a cousin of waffles)

Moving on. I love Waffen's dad.. so very much. I don't know that much about him yet, but he was a really, really good man. His name was Andrew (you know Waffen's German Shepherd? He's named Andrew after Waffen's father). Andrew is also my father's name.. but I'm not too sure about why I did that... it's probably deeply Freudian or sumsink *shrugs* I don't know what he did for a living lol.. not toymaking, sadly. Whatever it was it was arduous and he put everything into it, as was necessary seeing as he raised his two sons nearly all by himself. Waffen's younger brother John is a nasty creature, though.
ANYWAY, I remember my first thought for Andrew was that I wanted him to be the opposite of the "disappointed-father-of-a-gay-son" stereotype. He was always supportive of Waffen and never judged him.. which is probably more significant when their time and situation is taken into account. I DIGRESS--

I KNOW you asked about Eli but I gave you Andrew info too SORR-EH D:

Eli's story is also kind of tragic. His full name is Elia Hornstein.. so.. he's Jewish and I'm so creative, yep. You can probably see how he came into Waffen's life.. he came out to Waffen and Waffen was more than accepting x3 Really they both needed each other so much.. Waffen because sex has and will always be his instinctive outlet for venting (and at fifteen he had a lot of venting to do; hence panel 6 lol).. and Eli because of the obvious reason that his family would never accept him and he wanted to feel normal. They were together all through school. Waffen likes to think he was practical in his determination not to fall in love with Eli, but he's lying to himself, and Eli was most definitely in love.. but his family traditions saw him married a few years out of school. It was also around that time Waffen's father died, after which he moved from Birmingham to London.
He ran into Eli by chance several years later and they started sleeping together again. It was a downward spiral as neither of them wanted to believe they were only hurting each other at this point; Eli didn't want to be having an affair and Waffen's life was in a disarray courtesy of constant sleeping around and drugs. Eventually they gave up on each other.
Seeing as I know what happens to Waffen after that is the lowest point of his life.. I don't really want to think too hard about what happened to Eli. It's not a recipe for a happy ending.. being a good-natured closeted man with unavoidable straight obligations. It probably didn't end well..
But Waffen was very lucky with his first lover, considering what all the other ones were like (not like he every really knew them, but )

Not a good song goes by without me wishing I'd been to Woodstock. Waffen begs and begs Karma to let him use the time device to go see it xD (one day Karma will let him.. but that's forever away)

I don't think it's deeply Freudian...but then I do not go in for a lot of deeply Freudian theories...I just think you relate them to what you know, personal connotation and all that.)
ANYWAY. I do like to know about Andrew. Tell me about Waffen's mother. Was she in his life much at all? I already have an idea in my head about her. But you tell me first.

It's German for "virgin" as well (probably little sister too) and uh
They speak German in some parts of Switzerland, I'm sure you know, so probably, the word came first and for some reason they named the mountain that? but the song speaks of the mountain I would say.
