I agree with the others---you've done a fantastic job!
The proportions are also spot on, and I really like the nose as well ~(^u^)~

Thanks I didn't draw faces this way often before, so I'm glad it ended up this way.

Oh cool---keep on drawing!
I'm trying out a few styles myself, I have been for some years now. I've been traditionally trained, and tend to draw realistically, though I'm trying to be a bit looser.I've always wanted to draw for comics, or make my own, though I don't feel as comfortable drawing non-realistic faces (even realistic faces tbh).

It's funny because I have a simular story. I also began with realistic drawings (mine aren't as good as yours though ) and around a year ago I started to draw in a manga style. But if you want to draw in a comic or manga style you have to find an artist you really like and try to immitate him. After that you can bend it to your own style.
There are many other ways to learn it but this is just one I like to use. (:

Yeah, I have noticed that whenever I do draw in a sort of manga/cartoon style, the style tends to resemble whatever artists I see at the time. I think it definitely helps to develop one's own style, and experiment with technique.
A friend was telling me that they took a painting class once where all that hey did the first two weeks was make replicas of paintings in acrylic, and they then had a better handle on using paint and creating different styles. I think fan art is really cool, too, because one could either use the same style as the original, or adapt their own style while still using the same subject matter.

It's bassicly like doing master studies of manga or cartoon artists. And doing fanart is a great way to inspire yourself.
I'm really interested in what it would look like if you started drawing stylistic drawings!

Yeah, pretty much. I'm going to try and do some fan art to help get my creative juices flowing, as that is something that I've had trouble with.
Me too!

Thank you ^^
To be honest I wanted to make him look a bit older but it came out like this by accident q:

You're welcome!
Haha, in that case, you can try drawing his eyes smaller and angular next time? I think that would help make him look older.
I usually see youthful characters as having large eyes. xD

Smaller eyes would probably be a good place to start XD But most of the time I start with a concept which I redraw so many times that it becomes something completely different q:

The face is perfect - I really like the eyes and lips
The only thing that I'm not sure if I like is coloring, but I'm sure you'll get better soon I'm looking forward to seeing more from you ^^
