Comparing this and the original. You calling this the ''detailed'' version and all. ...No offense, but I really don't see much detail. Yes, the nose at least is a bit more detailed, but the whole thing still looks kind-of way too blurry and so on.

This is just my opinion of course, and you have your own way of drawing which I can't say anything to, but I know you can do much better than this.

Yeah, you're right. All I did was blend in some of the colors better. I should have zoomed in and actually added in some detail.

Oh and also another thing that's been bugging me lately is the resolution of your works. It would be really nice to see some of your work in high definition. To me it seems that you're now just working on a really small canvas.

Again, no offense, just an opinion. : )

You should never render individual strands of hair for multiple reasons.....1) it will take a lot of time 2) It will till look horrible and not hair like. An art to detailing, which I am trying to learn but have observed in other amazing artists is adding just enough information to let the mind complete the rest.

What you have here is still a very good painting that takes very strong advantage of values and lighting but I wouldn't call it detailed. It is probably more detailed than your prior piece or perhaps more detailed than your typical style. Also, the light on his nose wouldn't have such a crisp line, it would actually spread around the curve of the bridge just a little. The way it is right now almost looks like his nose is crooked or angled slightly.

Once again, please don't take offense to constructive criticism. You have much more raw talent than I would ever imagine to have. Stay positive and keep doing what you do best....the rest will come with time

No offense taken! I appreciate the crit, it's very reasonable and I see exactly what you mean. I had a feeling there were a few things wrong with the nose but I couldn't quite make it look right. The thing about individually rendered strands of hair was a joke though. I guess it doesn't really come off as such but I was just sort of... making fun of how some people are in awe of insanely detailed paintings.
