There is a very strong vanishing point here, even though it is outside the picture, but maybe this is what accounts for the vertigo ...

Very cool my friend. What happens if you boost the contrast and open up shadows. Does it get a bit brighter? I think this is a little muddy because of the lack of white tones but the content is fantastic.

rest - indeed - very much needed.
On Friday I went to business meeting in Holland (8 hours drive back and forth), 4 hours negotiations with 3 people in the English language in order to charter a survey vessel for a geotechnical project in the North Sea. Meeting was on board of the vessel [link] (with the master and 2 representatives of the company) - tour of the ship included - and we are talking big money here (at least for the company I am working for). I am still pretty much out on the floor ...

certainly not a high speed lens (have the 70-200 2.8 for that), but optical stabilizer, and even the first tests confirmed that image quality is WAY better as my old sigma 17-70.

pfffh - nikon
Actually I am quite happy now with the 15 mm. A 24 mm on real film always was a dream of mine, but I couldn't afford as a student. Everything beyond / below is too much effect IMHO.
First impression: a good quality and very useful lens.
Have to tell you. A good friend's daughter (working at the weaving mill I did some pictures earlier there) is doing textile and fashion design as well and asked me to take some pictures of here latest creations with a model. I am really but so far I have no clue how to approach this project. The wish is for a natural environment, like a rock outcrop (so I have been told). I believe that cloudy or slight overcast would be the best conditions?
When it comes to working with models Crina is my hero, but I have no idea how to get anywhere close ...

Oops 4got...u r a Canon man...well no one is perfect

I prefer diffused lighting when shooting people outdoors. Especially women...that sort of light will help keep skin flaws to a minimum. Try to have some ideas before you do the shoot. Ask her to bring some props that help reveal something about herself, besides wardrobes she feels comfortable in, such as iPod, guitar, textiles, dolls etc. This will help her to relax plus it will get her into the acting mode of modeling. Certainly so if she is not a pro model. Words I hate to hear from a model are "tell me what to do" and "say something funny to make me laugh". You hear them and you know you have a lot of work ahead. You need to ensure you both are comfortable...bring her in on the suggestions and planning of the shoot. Many girls today seem to want to emulate what they see on MTV, in Star magazines and America's Next Top Model. Now you don't have the resources to do those elaborate shoots...but the ideas could be helpful. Main thing is for you to be relaxed and to act like you know what you are doing and of course bring you signature style to the shoot.
