Awareness slowly creeped in. The faint raindrops hitting her face, the ice-cold water sapping away the heat of her body, the aching exhaustion in all of her muscles.

Slowly, Lynn put her weight on her front legs, wings heavy from the water. It felt sheer impossible to lift them now, legs trembling under her weight.

For a moment, her mind was blank, until it suddenly rushed back. The flight with her family, the sudden storm, the ice-cold water of the sea.

She didn't know the shore she washed up upon but she also couldn't spot anyone of her family along the rocky beach either. For now, she was alone.
