Try f/8, low ISO (100 or 200) and an higher exposure (prefer under-exposure than over-exposure), then crop it a lot and do not resize. You may work also with sharpness and contrast/brightness. If you look in my gallery you can see a shot of moon I took few days ago with an old (about 20 years) and ugly lens. I hope it could help you.
