Hmm... Lame title I know but I couldn’t think what else to call it.For Aik because she was the first to guess who Wolf Zelda was, yes way back then. (1 month and 4 days ago!) and since she mentioned she liked my semi realistic style so much I thought I’d use it. ^^ This was a lot of fun to do, it’s almost a shame it’s finished...
So here’s Aik and Link in the prison cell. Being the huge fan that Aik is, she’s ensured she was put in Links cell. Why? So she can rescue him! But at the moment they’re just talking... and I suppose she’s done away with Midna since she hasn’t turned up! xD
I such at expressions in this style... Link looks so bored and Aik looks sad, but they weren’t suppose too... :/

Done in photoshop, aprox 10 hours (mainly done on my brother comp.)

This is a -really- strong piece. It's almost too bad you made it Link and a fangirl, because this picture seems to have so much more to it.
The background, the stake and chain, the lighting and even the straw...it's simple, but so detailed...even Link's ears and the she-wolf's rump.
I really really, REALLY love the concept and execution of this piece. I guess I'm just unsure about the subject matter

Thanks, it's one of my favorate pictures. ^^ I see your point, but it was done as a prize for someone so I wasn't exactly in control of the subject matter. xD
Out of curiousity, is what you don't like because it is fan art (ie, should have had completely original characters) or because it has Link with a 'fangirl' (she's a dingo btw, not a wolf

Oh, well when I saw the picture, before having read the comments, it was obvious that the piece had a captivating presence, with a strong situation, composition, and well-defined characters. It's the kind of picture that grips the mind and immediately makes the viewer think of a story.
So in the description, I was hoping for a strong story to fit the powerful piece.
Instead it's Link and an OC fangirl who wants to break him out of prison. Not that that isn't a valid subject mind you. I enjoy Link, always =3 But it does lessen the power of the image somewhat.
I think, had it been two OC's, or even just a situational piece it would have more force to it.
Like I said, it doesn't change the fact that it's an amazing, and refreshing picture.

It's easy when you have such great characters to inspire you!
The background was simple because Aik wanted a small pic... and I thought I'd already gone too far with the characters xD I still love this one though. (I use it as a desktop... though I have the christmas one at the moe..)

I really don't know where to start but be sure - I LOVE THIS! 
I really have to spend more time in pictures... they turn out so much better - yours' a proof for that!
The idea for this picture and the concept with the positions of the character is really good! Yeah I guess Aik kicked Midna out of the window just to make sure she's alone with Link, lol 
The light effect = love! Much better than the ones I do... o.O I have to take a closer look at your way to draw them

Well, I'm nothing if not accurate ^^ (I copied and pasted your charater sheet to make sure the colours were perfect!) ...actually I thought Aik was a little big, taking into acount perpective and all... and those toes are EVIL!! >< I had a total art block on her hind legs ...I even considered just hiding them in straw. xD
umm, yeah I find that the important bit is where the picture looks finished, but if you spend time just tweaking tiny things it makes a lot of difference... and asking other people, they often see things you miss, like I forgot to add the shadow behind Aik's head but when I asked my brothers opinon he spotted it.
With the light I find that if you put in gloomy shades in the other direction, it enhances the sunbeam... but it doesn't have to be black, in a forest I'd use a dark green for example. You have to chose 3 or 4 colours and try to stick with them though out the piece... but I'm rambling so I'll stop there.

Yeah that's the other reason it doesn't really go with how you've set their relationship. I love the chemistry between the two and it really comes across in your pictures.
