Chapter 6Zeeel
Part 3
Zeeel was sitting in the rooftop still, thinking on how he could improve the world, to purge it of its greedy, materialistic ways. While he was thinking, he heard a voice talking to him, saying, “So, this is where you’ve been hiding all day,” Without even looking towards him, Zeeel said, “Kraidar, what do you want?”
“Well, the school knows all about that fiasco last night,” Kraidar said to him, “And they know how I was innocent in the whole thing,”
“How much did you pay for your innocence?” Zeeel asked.
“Pay? Don’t be ridiculous,” Kraidar replied, “With my status, it will be a shame to lose me. I didn’t need to pay them anything. I can do whatever I want without worrying about any consequences,”
“Whoever taught you about justice should be shot,” Zeeel said
“Justice? Ha! It just short for how much money you have and how much your innocence costs,” Kraidar explained, “I’m gonna try my luck with little bluey again,”
“Kalki?” Zeeel said.
“Yeah, something like that,” Kraidar said, “Don’t try to intervene this time, you’re in enough trouble already. Besides, I’m the one who controls true justice,” Kraidar left the roof.
“True justice?” Zeeel asked himself, “He wouldn’t know true justice if it fell on top of him,”
At that moment, Zeeel was given an idea. An idea that will show “true justice” to Kraidar. He observed the school from the rooftop and saw Kalki walking out of the school building and Kraidar approaching her. She was beginning to walk back into the school as Kraidar grabbed her. The time was right. He pulled out a knife from his backpack and slid it into a wristband under his sleeve. He smiled and licked his lips, covering them in a layer of blood. He rubbed it on the side of his face, cutting his cheek with his nail. He looked down and saw Kalki getting away from Kraidar, but he grabbed her and was dragging her to the back of the school, which Zeeel observed had no windows. The two of them made it to the back of the school.
Zeeel knew it was now or never.
He jumped off the roof of the school towards the direction of Kraidar. Kalki saw this and quickly forced Kraidar’s hand off of her. He was about to grab her again, but Zeeel let out a blood-curling scream as he landed on top of him, knocking him to the ground.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Kraidar yelled at him. As Zeeel pulled the knife out of his sleeve, Kraidar began to worry, “What are you going to do with that?”
“This,” Zeeel said as he stabbed himself in the stomach. Kalki flinched in horror and Kraidar pushed him off and onto the ground.
“Kraidar!” one of the teachers called out, just arriving on the scene, “How dare you? I know you must be upset about him threatening you, but you didn’t need to go as far as to stab him,”
“What?” Kraidar said, “I didn’t stab him. He fell from the roof and stabbed himself,”
“Yeah, very likely,” the teacher said, sarcastically.
Really, Mr. Trusdale,” He said to the teacher, “I’m telling the truth,”
“Miss Hilton,” Mr. Trusdale said to Kalki, ”You saw what happened, right?”
“Yes, I did,” Kalki said, shocked at what had happened, “Kraidar was beating up Zeeel for what had happened last night and he pulled a knife on him,”
“But that’s not,…” Kraidar began to say, but was interrupted by Mr. Trusdale, saying,
“Now Kalki, bring Zeeel to the nurse’s office, I’ll bring Kraidar to the office and I’ll get 911 on the phone, he has a stab wound and it seems that there’s blood pouring out of his mouth. He needs urgent care, now!!”
Zeeel was later taken to the hospital and was treated for the stab wound. The wound was major, but treatment was easy and had no complications. He would be able to leave the hospital the next morning. Zelia was in there for a while taking care of him, but left after a while. At about 8:40 p.m., 20 minutes until visiting was over, Kalki walked in to see him.
“How are you feeling?” Kalki asked, concerned
“I’m alright,”
“Is it major?”
“Kinda, but I’ll be able to leave here by tomorrow and go back to school by Thursday,”
“That’s great,”
“Did you hear anything about Kraidar?”
“Well, I heard that he’s gonna be suspended for a while. He should be expelled for what happened,”
“It’s better than him getting away with it scot-free,”
“You know,” Kalki said, “That little stunt of yours could’ve gotten yourself killed,”
“If I didn’t do anything,” Zeeel said, “He would’ve had his way with you,”
"At lease I would still be alive,"Kalki said beginning to cry, "If that went wrong, you would be dead now,"
"But I'm not. That's why you should be happy," Zeeel said, "Please stop crying. I'm not gonna die, I'm just gonna chill here overnight,"
"Alright," Kalki said, as the clock struck 9, "Oh? Visiting hours are over. I should probably get going," Kalki began to walk towards the exit, but turned to Zeeel and pointed to him and said,
"Let the one who is pure of sight call out 'justice is served,"
Kalki left the room.
Zeeel leaned back in the hospital bed, smiling, and muttered, "Justice is served," as he fell asleep.
